Our History
In 1989 Steve returned to Virginia and was admitted to the Virginia State Bar. He immediately began working for an insurance defense law firm that represented State Farm and Allstate, among other clients, where he gained experience and an appreciation for Personal Injury work from the perspective of the Insurance Companies. He went from being an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney for the City of Norfolk.
Steve opened his own practice in 1992. In 1993 He fulfilled a lifelong dream of opening an office on top of his father’s shoe store in Hampton, Virginia. In 1995 He opened a satellite office in Windsor, Virginia, and experienced the lifestyle of a country lawyer. Steve began as a general practitioner handling divorce, bankruptcy, contract matters, and other disputes. His practice now concentrates on serious personal injury, worker’s compensation, and criminal defense.
In 2012 He purchased his own building located in downtown Suffolk, Virginia and he purchased an old Victorian house built in 1906 which he remodeled to transform into a cozy yet efficient space to practice law. For the convenience of his clients he maintains a satellite office in downtown Norfolk in the Wells Fargo building. He and his wife Roberta, a special education teacher, have been married for 26 years and they have two daughters and one son.
